Kids Museum Of Glass

The Kids Museum Of Glass, the very first national design museum for children. This project turned the former glassware manufacturing plant into an educational wonderland that takes its visitors for a kaleidoscope like visual journey.

Working closely with COORDINATON, a design firm specializing in conceptualization, we turned this old manufacturing workshop into a multi-functional compound for exhibition, DIY workshop, cafeteria, souvenir shop and a party place. This 2000-square-foot space is dedicated to 4 to 10-year-old children, where they could learn about glass in fun and marvelous ways.

Following COORNIDATION’s design principle, the sustainability and health-conscious take precedence in all design choices that are made in the project. Using recycled composite and particle boards wherever possible created a funky, modern and engaging environment. The upfront visual effect for the visitors would be the use of natural material, strong contrast, and the dark trendy glass exterior. Equipped with air filtering technology, the central air condition system that has been put in place carries a special consideration to ensure clean fresh air while children staying indoor. All exhibiting items used in the museum are from sustainable materials, to promote environment protection, for a better future for the generations to come.

Now the Kids Museum Of Glass is a fast growing new member of the G+ theme parks. Its multi-functional setups and offbeat customer experience are turning the museum into a fashionable design landmark in Shanghai.
